City Country School is a small, independent, Middle States accredited Montessori school for children and adolescents three to sixteen years old. We prepare students for life by helping them discover their own learning process, the meaning of depth in work, the necessity of self-reflection and inner motivation, and the joys and challenges of collaborative work.

City Country School is uncompromising in its implementation of all aspects of the Montessori pedagogy. This includes Montessori trained classroom guides, the full Montessori curriculum, all the Montessori didactic materials, the prepared environment, the uninterrupted work cycle, freedom of choice, freedom of movement, long works (projects), small group lessons, direct and indirect instruction, mixed- age groups, and both independent and collaborative work. CCS has the first complete Montessori Adolescent Community in Spain.

We have many interesting and varied families at City Country School. The requirements for a successful family-school collaboration are a shared humility in our approach to each person’s developmental stage, a willingness to listen to one another and to the children, and a deep mutual respect. Our application process is an opportunity for us to learn about your family and for you to learn about the school. Since we are a small school, there are only a few spaces available per year. We are looking for families who wish to grow and learn with us.
