Is City Country School the right school for my child (and our family)?

Your child’s education is a personal matter. You must feel comfortable with the belief system that underlies the school you choose for your child. If self-discovery and purpose is your litmus test for a good life, then City Country School is in harmony with your core values and could be the right school for your family.

What are your COVID-19 Protocols?

What educational system are you following?

City Country School is a Montessori school in Madrid for children three to sixteen years old, committed to the Montessori approach to instruction in all aspects of the school: from how we present academic subjects, to how we listen and speak to the children, to how we prepare the environment, to how we assess the child growth. City Country School is a Montessori school that is alive and, therefore, evolving to meet the needs of the XXI century child. Read more in our City Country School Handbook.

Do you have transportation?

The school does not offer private transportation. The school is easily accessible by public transportation, with busses #64, #82 and #137 and metro line #7, stations "Valdezarza" or "Antonio Machado".

What ages are you serving?

City Country School serves children from 3 to 16 years old (from PK3 to Grade 10). Our Children’s House serves children from 3 to 6 years old. Our Elementary serves children from 6 to 12 years old. Our Adolescence Program serves children from12 to 16 years old.

 Is the school recognized by authorities?

City Country School is accredited by the "Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools" and authorized by the Spanish Ministry of Education as "Foreign School in Spain". City Country School is a member school of the American Montessori Association (AMS) and in accreditation process.

What schools can my child attend after her time at City Country School is over?

Montessori schools prepare children for entry into any system. City Country School is an accredited American school recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and, as such, your child can transfer to any school, as if they had been attending a school in the U.S. 

Can I visit the school?

Yes, you can visit the school and we would be happy to show you around. Visits are organized individually and take place in the mornings, giving interested parents the opportunity to take a peek at a Montessori classroom in action. What is the enrollment process?

Is food provided?

Yes, we provide organic lunch and snacks for the children at school. We make lunch completely from scratch in our kitchen everyday using only fresh organic ingredients: nothing canned, powdered, prepared or packaged. See the monthly Menu HERE.

What time does school start and end?

Arrival time is from 8:30 to 9:00. Dismissal is from 15:50 to 16:00. The school does not provide early or afterschool care.

Since 2023, City Country School is the only Montessori-accredited school in Europe for children 3-16 years old and accredited by “American Montessory Society”.
